Role: Senior captive associate, Marsh IAS Management Services (Bermuda) Ltd
What is your job? As a captive associate we provide accurate, timely and efficient bookkeeping, perform insurance transactions, prepare and complete monthly, quarterly and weekly financial statements and reports for a number of clients. We also reconcile bank statements, organise data and any other insurance/accounting tasks, as well as provide administrative support for the finance managers and/or insurance managers.
What is your favourite part? My favourite part is when the financials and management reports are completed, in balance and accurate after much time and concentration has been consumed. It’s like an intangible bonus!
What is your least favourite part? My least favourite part is having to always work from the office as I would enjoy the flexibility to be able to work from home sometimes, especially being that I live in Southampton.
What is your most interesting experience at work? The most interesting experience at work is probably around the end of every month when the monthly management reports are due and I receive urgent work loads from three different finance managers. I am able to organise my time efficiently and am able to supply the managers with quality work in a timely manner with minimal to no errors.
What would you be doing otherwise? I would most likely be working towards becoming a well-known and established artist. This is currently my one of my hobbies.
