Q: What is a web browser?
A: A web browser or URL (uniform resource locator) is the space that appears along the top of a web page and contains the address of the web site that you are currently visiting. For example, if you were viewing the online site for The Royal Gazette, the URL would appear as http://www.royalgazette.com
The actual function of a web browser is to locate and display web pages in a format that can be read by both the consumer as well as the PC.
Web browsers are the tool of choice when you know the address of the site you are trying to reach.
