Kirklands slip to 14th in the Rolex Miami
Jesse and Zander Kirkland dropped four spots to 14th at the US Sailings Rolex Miami OCR yesterday in Biacayne Bay.
The pair ended the second day in tenth position after finishes of 15th,15th and 12th, but fell after placing 24th, 10th, and 17th on day three.
It was a tricky day(day two) on the bay, said Zander. The wind was a little lighter and hard to get in phase.
We look forward to tomorrow to get back in phase, and hopefully the breeze forecast is similar with perhaps more pressure.
The field is much stronger than last years event, with four of the top ten in the world at this years event.
The competition started bright for the Olympic hopefuls, who claimed a 14th, eighth, and a second place to have them in contention early on.
The Austrian duo of Nico Luca Marc Delle Karth and Nikolaus Resch lead the standings after nine races.
n Rory Caslin, Chase Cooper, Ceci Wolmann, Mikey Wollmann and Benn Smith will represent Bermuda at the South American Championships.

The seriesesults determined the local team of sailors who will represent Bermuda at the 2012 IODA South American Championship in Argentina in March.
Five Races were sailed on Sunday which were added to the 11 sailed back in November during the BODAs National Championships.
The team will be coached by Argentine high performance coach Martin Jenkins, a former two- time Optimist World Champion.
Regular series sailing kicks off next weekend with the start of the JLT Winter Series organised by the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club.
