BAA drop points against Lobster Pot

BAA hold the smallest of leads in the Corona League as the business end of the season approaches.
The Wanderers, who gained four points from their two matches last week, currently hold a one-point lead over Tuff Dogs, albeit have played two more games than their rivals.
The league leaders dropped two valuable points on Saturday in their 2-2 draw against Lobster Pot having overcome Robin Hood 5-4 in their midweek fixture.
Goals from Derek deChabert and Henry Santucci gave Pot a two-goal lead, but Simon Facione and David Gibbs scored to leave matters all square at the full time whistle.
BAA coach Mike McGrath is anxious to see the next twist in the tale at the top, admitting that their clash with Dogs may be the title decider.
“They do say that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush but you have to look at how well Tuff Dogs are playing this season and they seldom drop points so you expect them to be taking maximum points from their games in hand,” said McGrath.
“The Wanderers will try to keep them honest during the run in but I think most people have them as favourites, it’s just down to them to handle the pressure of expectation.
“With the league being so tight at the top the game against Tuff Dogs will be massive for both team’s seasons and probably will be a very good guide as to where the league is heading as it will give the winning side the momentum for the run in.
“It should be a great six-pointer game.”
Dogs, who played after BAA and watched their match with keen interest, held their end of the bargain, easily taking apart St David’s 7-0.
Kevin Hurdle, Lamaul Crofton and Yusef Pitt all bagged braces, while Mark Decouto added the other.
Flanagan’s Onions also produced a host of goals in their game, thrashing Valley FC 8-0.
Two goals apiece from Adam Griffiths, Phil Anderson and Dave Martin got the side off to a flyer, with Alan Kelly and John Docherty also scoring
Defending champions Vasco won the game of the week, a 4-3 thriller over St George’s.
Rui Sebestiao grabbed a double and there were single strikes from Quincy Aberdeen and Cymandi Davis were enough to give Vasco victory.
Neil Paynter, Jah-Jah Robinson and Keenan Burchall scored for the East Enders.
Victor Richards scored a hat-trick for Robin Hood as they bounced back from their midweek loss, while Jevon Roberts also helped in the scoring department as they beat West End United 3-0.
