Five more athletes qualify for Carifta
Five more of the Islands athletes qualified for the upcoming Carifta Games to be held in Bermuda in April.
The athletes were competing in the Golden Onion Series II Blue Track Meet at the National Sports Centre at the weekend.
Kiezhari Knight reached the qualifying standard in the under-17 girls high jump with a leap of 1.61, while Khianda Pearman reached the mark in the under-20 girls high jump (1.68).
Kidane Callender qualified for two events, recording a time of 11.28 in the under-17 boys 100 metre and then posted a finish of 22.83 in the under-17 boys 200m.
Tyrone Oswald also met the standard in the under-20 boys long jump with a leap of 6.74m and Jeneko Place qualified for the under-20 boys 200m clocking a time of 21.70.
A total of 23 Bermuda athletes have now qualified for the Carifta Games.
