Drink-driving suspects arrested
Six people were arrested over the weekend on suspicion of drunk driving, including a 62-year-old taxi driver involved in a collision.
No injuries were reported after the taxi and a motorcycle struck near the junction of Frog Lane and Devon Lane, Devonshire, at about 3.15am on Sunday.
However the driver, a Devonshire man, was held by police after failing an alcohol test.
At 1.25am, police on patrol along Par-la-Ville Road pursued a motorcycle that was seen travelling erratically. A 51-year-old St Georges man was arrested and detained.
A 56-year-old Pembroke man was stopped at 8pm on Friday, again for erratic driving, by police on patrol at the junction of King and Union Streets in Pembroke. He was detained after failing the alco-analyser test.
And a 26-year-old St Georges man was treated at hospital and released following a single-vehicle collision on North Shore Road, Hamilton Parish, at 4.15am on Saturday. His motorcycle fell near the junction with Old Road.
Police also reported 12 arrests for outstanding warrants over the weekend.
