BHS Primary’s Wind and Jazz Clarinet Ensembles perform a special Assembly
For their final Easter Assembly before the holiday, the Bermuda High School for Girls Primary Wind Ensemble went to great lengths to rehearse. They were performing a classic piece of music entitled “In My Easter Bonnet” and the children wore a variety of beautifully decorated “bonnets” for the occasion! Many parents came to watch the performance.“It was fun playing in front of so many people” said Erin Jones. I only got my bonnet ready at the last moment.”The BHS Primary Jazz Clarinet ensemble also performed the famous “When the Saints go Marching In” to lots of applause. “I made my bonnet last Easter,” Lauren Dietz said. “It is decorated with Easter eggs, flowers, and baby chicks. I am so glad that everyone enjoyed our performance.”Ava Burland Adams, the youngest member of the ensemble, had double reason to celebrate.“I had practiced really hard to play in front of everyone. I was nervous at first but I knew all the notes of Easter Bonnet,” she said. “Then the next day I performed all over again in front of my class and they all applauded!”
