Olympic-bound swimmer Roy-Allan Burch has reached the 'A' final in the men's 50 meter freestyle at the Charlotte Grand Prix in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Burch swam a 23.08 in this morning's qualifiers to claim a spot in tonight's final where he has been seeded seventh.

Also in action today was Julian Fletcher who swam a personal best 2:23.72 in the men's 200 meter breaststroke.

Fletcher's time, which was a mere second shy of the national record held by Chris Flooks, was not enough to qualify for the 'A' or 'B' finals.

Nonetheless, he is preparing himself for a potential spot in the 'C' final in the event a slot becomes available.

Lisa Blackburn, the third local swimmer competing in Charlotte this weekend, swam a 2:40.20 in the women's 200 meter breaststroke to finish 34th.

Fletcher and Blackburn both traveled to North Carolina hopeful of qualifying for the upcoming Olympics in the UK.
