Police chase suspected drink driver

A suspected drunk driver was chased and stopped by the police on Middle Road, Devonshire, around 3.40am on Thursday, according to police.

A spokeswoman said officers noticed the car travelling erratically. Police persued it and stopped it near the junction with Fort Hill Road.

When they approached the driver, a 28-year-old man from Devonshire, he appeared to be intoxicated, according to the spokeswoman.

He was arrested and failed a breath test. He was kept in police custody and court charges are pending.
