Bermudian photographer Roland Skinner’s newest book will be available at stores Island-wide next week.

Published by AS Cooper & Sons, the new soft cover book “Picturesque Bermuda at a glance” is smaller than Mr Skinner’s previous hardcover books, “Picturesque Bermuda” Volumes 1 and 2. It is aimed at today’s more cost-conscious air and cruise visitors, and is also compact enough to fit easily into carry on luggage.

The 48-page book, with a shot of a cove at Horseshoe Bay on the cover, features some of the best of Mr Skinner’s timeless photos of Bermuda.

“We wanted a smaller and less expensive alternative to showcase Roland’s beautiful images,” said Cooper’s managing director Somers Cooper. “Really, it’s a best of Roland Skinner publication. And it’s inexpensive and compact.”

The book retails for $14.95 and is already on sale at Cooper’s and the Picturesque Gallery on Front Street.

It’s part of new lower priced collection of Picturesque products, including Lucite photo blocks or paperweights for $35, matted postcards for $12.50 and preframed (in mahogany look or black frames) and matted “mini prints” that retail for $49.95 but are the same quality as the larger prints.

The book was designed by Laura Herrmann Couallier and includes colour photos of Island scenery, its beaches, flora, architecture and aerial shots.

Cooper’s acquired Picturesque from Mr Skinner last year.

New mini Picturesque galleries are located at Cooper’s main store and at the Dockyard store.
