Dear Sir,

Your front page article concerning the Premier and her views on the abuses of her Government was quite enlightening. Why all of a sudden the need for any extra legislation to control these abusers whom she admits exist when there are Acts presently in place? They only need enforcing. Can you imagine a Magistrate’s reaction to such promises from the everyday common man? Should criminals say to him they are going to be good from now on if he changes the rules. The Premier seems to be aware of past abuses so why the sudden need to change? If it is a very recent revelation why not offer every help possible to the Accountant General to unearth the abuses. Any longer delay only lifts the carpet a little higher and allows a bigger broom.
