Some roads will be closed for this mornings Queens Birthday Parade
The annual Queens Birthday Parade is scheduled to take place on Front Street this morning, causing some traffic restrictions.
Taking part in this years parade will be two guards of the Bermuda Regiment and two guards of the Atholl Highlanders, along with single guards of the Bermuda Police Service, Bermuda Sea Cadets and Bermuda Cadet Corps.
The Bermuda Police Service said yesterday that, due to the parade, Point Pleasant Road (Albouys Point) will be closed between 10am and 11am.
There will be further road closures between 9am and noon, including:
n Front Street between Court Street and Bermudiana Road,
n Burnaby Street between Reid Street and Front Street,
n Court Street between Reid Street and Front Street,
n Par-La-Ville Road between Front Street and Church Street.
From 6am to noon, parking will be prohibited on Front Street between Court Street and Bermudiana Road, and on Burnaby Street between Reid Street and Front Street.
Taxis will be allowed to enter Front Street from the direction of Pitts Bay Road and park on the north side of Front Street between Par-La-Ville Road and Queen Street to pick up passengers.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 10am, and members of the public are encouraged to attend.
