A 37-year-old man has died following a traffic collision on Harbour Road, in Paget, this afternoon.

The man, from the UK, was the rider of a rental cycle which was involved in a collision with a car on Harbour Road between the junctions of Manse Road and Chapel Road.

The accident happened around 3.35pm and the man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance, but died from his injuries. A 36-year-old woman from the UK, who was a pillion passenger on the bike, was also taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries. There were no other reported injuries.

Traffic was diverted from Harbour Road to Middle Road at the junctions of Manse Road and Chapel Road while collision investigators conducted inquiries at the scene. The road has since reopened to normal traffic flow.

Bermuda Police Service said no further information would be released until the next of kin had been notified.

This is the second fatal road accident on Bermuda’s roads this year.
