Bermudas Alphas and Kappas unite for football match for charity
Two fraternal organisations will raise money for charity and honour the memory of two deceased members through a football match tomorrow.
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated will field teams for the second annual Bascome/Lowe Charity Football Classic.
The event is named for the late Health Minister Nelson Bascome, a Kappa, and Rev Dr Wilbur Lowe, an Alpha.
The football match aims to celebrate their legacy of community service.
This is an awesome way to celebrate two Bermudian men who represented service, and the spirit of our community, said Alpha Phi Alpha president Dr Bert McPhee, in a press release.
The match starts at 6pm at Bernard Park. Charities who have at least ten spectators attend the event wearing their colours can enter a drawing for $1000. The Kappas colour is red; the Alphas is gold or yellow.
Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Bermuda won the charity prize last year, with Kappa Alpha Psi the victorious team.
