Cornell University PhD student to speak on youth obesity and diabetes

A US expert is to give a public talk on childhood and adolescent obesity next week.

Margaret Demment, a PhD student at Cornell University, will discuss how the condition is linked to the early onset of Type 2 diabetes.

Based on her thesis, Childhood and Adolescent Obesity — the Underlying Risk Factors, the presentation is sponsored by the Bermuda Diabetes Association and the Bermuda Hospitals Board Diabetes Centre.

Ms Demment will speak at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute at 7pm next Thursday, June 28.
