Performing arts summer camp offers an opportunity for older teens
Summer camps are plentiful for primary school students in Bermuda, but the choices start to fall off when they reach their teenage years.
ChaVon Clarke is to hold an all-inclusive performing arts camp this summer for young people eight to 17 years old.
I think we are one of the only summer camps in Bermuda available to older teenagers, she said.
The camp offers classes in a wide variety of art forms from rap, dance, spoken word and poetry to modelling. Experienced instructors will teach all of the workshops.
Its a great way for young people to build performance experience, public speaking and communication skills, said Miss Clarke. There will be weekly swimming activities and a Friday talent showcase for parents and the community.
The camp runs from July 2 to August 17 at the Berkeley Institute. Fees are $150 per week per child, however persons who register tomorrow will only be charged $100.
Registrations can be done online, at www.ckccorporation.com, or at the CKC Cares Charity booth at the Centre on Philanthropys Community Day Fair at Botanical Gardens from 9am to 1pm.
