Police seized more than a dozen cannabis plants over the weekend after they were discovered in a wooded area near a preschool.

A police spokesman said yesterday: “Around 9.30am on Saturday, police officers seized approximately 20 cannabis plants under the Misuse of Drugs Act in the Smiths Hill Drive, St George’s area.”

The plants, along with equipment for the cultivation of the plants, were reportedly discovered only a short distance from St David’s Preschool.

As of last night, no arrests had been made in connection to the drugs, but the spokesman said that inquiries are ongoing.
