Marine technology school offering scholarships to Bermudians
A school that offers courses in marine technology and boat construction will now offer a full scholarship to Bermudian students.
The Landing School, in Arundel, Maine, will award the scholarship to qualified students seeking to complete one of The Landing Schools full-time programmes.
These include marine systems, yacht design, composite boat building or wooden boat building (cruising or small boats).
The scholarship will cover a years tuition and all living expenses.
Robert DeColfmacker, president of The Landing School, said, We are very proud to be able to offer students from Bermuda this scholarship.
Its an amazing opportunity to share our knowledge with a student who has the drive and desire to attend The Landing School but lacks the funding.
Two Bermudian students are currently enrolled at The Landing School.
The new scholarship is allowing one of them to spend a second year at the school to earn an associates degree in marine industry technology.
