Disappearing cable channels
July 10, 2012
Dear Sir,
Another day, another channel wiped clean off Bermuda CableVision. Now its AMC channel 26, its been replaced with HDNet childrens movies something or other. No notice, no apology, nothing from CableVision. Well to those who enjoy watching classic movies and popular shows like Mad Men and The Walking Dead, which happen to be two of the most popular shows on cable television, can sit and wonder why we can no longer view this channel. Sadly this has been a trend on CableVision, channels disappearing and never coming back. Before it was MSG which was replaced with a sports channel which is constantly blacked out and when it does come back on-air often there is no audio for about 12 hours straight.
I really dont know why there arent more complaints about this kind of thing. Lately some channels have been freezing up for hours at a time and also if a channel goes out on a Friday night, good luck having it back on before Monday. It just seems like no one is there at cable headquarters is doing quality control on the weekends. One thing CableVision is good at is telling you how and when you can make your payments, if only we could make portion payments for portion programming but then again CableVision wont accept that. All I can say is thank you for the internet where you can actually watch shows in HD for free when you expected to see them on your cable system which you pay to view.
One last point to Bermuda Broadcasting. Can you please stop interrupting shows with local commercials where they shouldnt be? The stations actually provide you with station point breaks for that sort of thing. Please let shows end before you insert commercials; you often cut off 30 seconds to minutes with your practice.
