Burrows bags brace for Bermuda

Bermuda’s Under-17 national team defeated Antigua and Barbuda in their final World Cup qualifying game in Jamaica on Friday night.

Scott Morton’s team, who lost their opening game 5-1 to Jamaica last week, went ahead in the 13th minute through Ras Stafari Burrows.

The game was then delayed for an hour when the stadium’s floodlights went off in the 42nd minute.

In the 53rd minute Jevon Stevens scored for Antigua and Barbuda but Bermuda restored their lead when Burrows added his second in the 68th minute, however, the lights then went out again for another 30 minutes.

The game resumed with no further goals as Bermuda finished second in their group.
