TECH TIP OF THE WEEK
Q: Why do laptops overheat?
A: The internal components of a laptop are stored in closer proximity to one another than those of a desktop, which also means there is less space for airflow.
Laptops that are allowed to overheat on a regular basis will generally suffer hard drive damage as a result. All electrical appliances generate heat, so its important their internal cooling fans are working correctly and precautions are taken to avoid overheating from occurring.
It is not uncommon for users to have their laptop placed in their laps while relaxing and precautions should be taken to ensure proper airflow to and from the devices cooling fans. Purchasing a laptop cooling pad is well worth the investment and one way to keep your device from overheating.
