Whites never listened

Dear Sir,
Mr Kevin Comeau has charged (RG July 27, 2012) that whites have “stopped listening” to ways to repair the damage done to blacks as a result of white-imposed segregation as a result of “authentic blacks”.
That implies that they were once listening. When were they listening? I have been around since the days when Government sponsored segregation because of the demand of whites and in their interest, but I have missed it. So Mr Comeau, if they have stopped listening, when did they start?
