Six ways to stay cool at the game
-

Have a supply of cold drinks to keep you cool in the summer heat.
When the body overheats it can easily dehydrate and sun and heat stroke can quickly be the result.
So while youre outside enjoying this Cup Match weekend be mindful of keeping your body cool. Here are my six tips for you:
1) Stay out of direct sunlight between noon and 4pm
2) Wear loose fitting light cotton clothing in light colours. Accessorise in your team colours instead of actually wearing a complete outfit in them. Somersets red and navy will especially retain heat.
3) Wet a washcloth with ice-cold water and cool your face neck and head. You can leave it for a few minutes across the back of your neck. You will notice your whole body temperature fall.
4) If youre in the water but not swimming with your head under, wear a hat.
5) Drink plain water, drink plain water and drink some more plain water.
6) Keep a cooler of ice with you, whenever you are outdoors. A few cubes of ice smoothed across any hot area of the body provides quick relief and halts possible cell damage.
