The Bermuda Department of Tourism has retained a German based sales and marketing agency to generate tourist arrivals out of the Euro Market.

Eyes2market is a full-service sales, marketing and public relations firm based in Rellingen retained by BDOT this month to promote Bermuda in Austria, Switzerland and Germany for 12 months.

According to Tourism Director William Griffith, Europe’s German-speaking markets show good growth potential for the island’s tourism industry.

“Business from the German market increased by 12 percent in 2011 and we feel there is potential there to attract more visitors,” said Griffith. “Eyes2market is a leader in the industry and we expect them to help us maximise the potential of the market.”

The company’s Managing Director Simone Rösel, noted that Bermuda’s attributes offer tremendous appeal for the German-speaking markets. “The island’s beauty and diversity, coupled with its proximity to the US East Coast, offers great opportunities for visitors to make Bermuda part of a North American holiday escape.”

The agency will be conducting training sessions, family trips and special events organised in conjunction with important tour operators and media as among the tools the agency will utilise to sell and promote the destination.

“We are extremely proud to represent Bermuda,” said Ms Rösel. “We know there are tremendous opportunities to promote the destination in German-speaking markets and we look forward to working closely with the Department of Tourism to maximise the destination’s potential.”

Eyes2market was founded in 2000 and specialises in destination marketing and public relations and provides services to seven destinations, including Tahiti, New Caledonia, Sarasota and Bermuda.
