BSX climbs 1.6%
Butterfield Bank and insurer BF&M Ltd rose in a three-day week of trading on the Bermuda Stock Exchange, which was closed for the past two days for the Cup Match holiday.
Butterfield, which announced a $16 million profit for the second quarter on Tuesday, rose three cents, or 2.4 percent on the trading of 47,740 shares.
BF&M also posted a strong gain, climbing 45 cents, or 2.9 percent to close the week on $16, as 8,140 of its shares traded.
The Royal Gazette / BSX Index gained 17.32 points, or 1.59 percent, to close the week on 1,088.97. Volume was 57,380 shares, while turnover topped $202,000.
