Two men have been arrested in connection with a robbery that left a 33-year-old man in “serious condition” with head injuries at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

The victim, who had been accompanied by his four- and ten-year-old sons, was set upon by four men shortly after 5pm on Saturday, on Rambling Lane, Pembroke.

The attackers stole a piece of jewellery after beating him with a piece of wood, and breaking a bottle over his head.

Last night the victim remained in the Intensive Care Unit, where he was said to be stable.

Witnesses, or anyone with information, are asked to call police at 295-0011, or the confidential crime stoppers hotline, 800-8477.
