Q: What should I do when my computer freezes?

A: Computers freeze (fail to respond) for many different reasons and unfortunately sometimes result in loss of the documents we are working on.

That’s why it’s good practice to occasionally hit the save button when working on an important document as a pre-emptive measure.

One reason computers freeze is due to an unresponsive application and the only way to get around it is to exit or quit the application. Although you will lose unsaved data, the quickest way to resolve the issue is to select Ctrl/Alt/Delete all at once, and then select the task manager option. The task manager screen will then appear and if you look down the list of applications you’ll see the one that you’re using listed as unresponsive select it and then hit end process.
