Man dies after road crash

A 59-year-old father has died after a road traffic accident in Pembroke on Friday.

Jaha Akili Mallory, from Sandys, was driving on The Glebe Road near Yardie Kitchen at around 4.38pm when his vehicle and another car collided.

Mr Mallory was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment for internal bleeding.

A Police spokesman said that an autopsy would be performed in the near future to determine the exact cause of Mr Mallory’s death.

“The Bermuda Police Service extends its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Mr Mallory,” the spokesman said.

Inquiries into the death are ongoing, and Police are asking any witnesses to the collision, or those who may have seen Mr Mallory up to an hour before the incident, to contact PC James Eli on 247-1788.

Mr Mallory, also known as ‘Brigie’, is survived by his wife, Rosebud Mallory and children Akili Jr and Tafari Mallory, Troy Burgess, Erica Thomas, Kizzy Phillips, Cassy Chambers, Akila, Joan and Destiny Mallory, Elroy, Oshane and Nadia Darrell, Justine Nolan and the late Javon Saunders.

Funeral service arrangements will be announced at a later date.
