Pedestrian injured in a hit and run crash
A woman was taken to hospital after being struck in a hit and run incident as she crossed the road.
The 24-year-old man driving the car at King Streets junction with Front Street failed to stop after the crash, sparking a police chase shortly after 10pm on Tuesday.
He was eventually pulled over in Trimingham Hill, Paget, where he was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired.
The woman, a 45-year-old Pembroke woman, suffered head and back injuries and was treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
Police issued a statement thanking members of the public for coming to her aid.
