King Street could become a one-way road as part of an effort to improve traffic in Hamilton.
The proposal is described as being in the early stages, however traffic on the road would only be able to travel in a northbound direction if it is approved.
The move is one of several being considered as part of a plan to reduce traffic congestion in the city.
Another potential change would be turning Reid Street into three lanes where it crosses Court Street, creating separate lanes for those continuing west or turning north or south.
City of Hamilton secretary Ed Benevides said yesterday: There are concepts and proposals being considered and evaluated.
Once the process is complete, the Corporation with provide the resulting plan with a timeline.
During a recent public meeting, the City of Hamilton discussed the possibility of turning a section of Court Street into a pedestrian area. It was not revealed if that suggestion is a part of the proposed street changes.
