Nail-biting netball final decided as whistle blows

Berkeley one defeated CedarBridge Academy 14-13 in a nail-biting final to win the senior school netball tournament at Bernard Park.

Danielle Onyia scored the winning goal with a penalty goal as the final whistle sounded. Onyia scored nine goals for the victors with teammate Jazmyn Renfroe adding five. Taahira Butterfield scored nine for CedarBridge with Drewshae Bascome scoring four.

Berkeley had a tight semi-final as well beating Warwick Academy 18-16 in a high scoring match. CedarBridge defeated Berkeley two in the other semi final 9-6

Northlands won the Primary School A title with a 8-3 victory over Paget Primary. Northlands were led by the shooting of Kaamilah Nassir who score five goals and Kelise Stewart who scored three. Ayana Tucker scored two for Paget while Amiah Butterfield scored one.

Paget needed overtime to defeat their west central rivals West Pembroke 7-5. Tucker again led Paget with five goals. Northlands shut out Somerset Primary in the other semi-final. Nassir and Stewart each scored three in the 6-0 win.
