Hospitality course to begin
Unemployed residents have until next week to sign up for a hospitality industry training programme.
Government launched the waiter-server programme in conjunction with the Bermuda Hotel Association and the Restaurant Division of the Chamber of Commerce last year in hopes of filling vacant posts in the industry.
Interested persons have until Friday, November 30 to sign up.
Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Patrice Minors said the programme has so far landed 60 Bermudians with jobs.
No experience is required and the training programme is being offered at no cost to the trainee.
Said Mrs Minors: Individuals who work hard at this programme are guaranteed a job, and it is my hope that they will take advantage of this opportunity. This is a chance for Bermudians to excel in an occupation that they may have otherwise overlooked.
This programme can assist with their entry into the hospitality industry, but it certainly does not prevent them. Once theyve gained some experience, their opportunities are endless in exploring other options within the industry.
Interested persons can telephone 297-7714 or 292-3700 and sign up for the programme.
