Berkeley pupils eligible for dual enrolment in College
Twelve Berkeley Institute students have qualified for college level courses, and will be eligible for dual enrolment at the Bermuda College in the spring, 2013 semester.
The college offered placement exams on November 17.
Berkeley principal Michelle Simmons said the college level courses would be transferable to colleges and universities overseas.
Students who test into college preparatory classes will still need to continue their senior school programme at Berkeley, especially for algebraic concepts in maths and reading comprehension in English.
For College Algebra, Michaela Bean, DKiyah Evans, Genesis Hewey, China Richardson and Sierra Symonds have qualified.
Natiqua Darrell, Monique Lynch, Maychel Pearman, Chelsea Pereira-Swainson, Saggar Ramsey, Azra Smith and Amani Walker have qualified for freshman English.
They were congratulated by Berkeley Board Chairman Craig Bridgewater, who called it evidence of the excellent work by the dedicated teachers at the Berkeley Institute.
