Spirit. We are in the Christmas season.

Shops seem busier, the traffic heavier, and yes, the Christmas parties have already started. What is most critical is that it is a time of the year when people are friendlier, the smiles are broader, and the ability of people to communicate seems to move to a higher level.

It is this “spirit” that we need to capture and develop a way to maintain this throughout the year. The cooperation that is required so that we move forward and start to improve our community in difficult times is our real goal. So take that “spirit” that is in the air and make it part of your everyday living. Start this week to spread it around.

"We need a spirit of community, a sense that we are all in this together. If we have no sense of community, the dream will wither.” — Bill Clinton
