Hundreds of M3 Students from the five middle public schools participated in the Middle School Fitness Challenge Beep Test. The Inter School Fitness Challenge Team hosted qualifying rounds for the Beep Test at each of the schools. The top five students from each school were then invited to a Middle School Beep Test Face Off on December 4.

The beep test traditionally involves running continuously between two points that are 20 metres apart from side to side. These runs are synchronised with pre-recorded beeps at set intervals. As the test proceeds, the interval between each successive beep reduces, forcing the athlete to increase their speed over the course of the test, until it is impossible to keep in sync with the recording.

The winning school was TN Tatem, while the individual winner was Dellwood’s Akim Johnston.

Individual Beep Test Winners:

1. Akim Johnston (Dellwood)

2. Takkyh Sharriff Haywood (Whitney)

3. Kamali Davis (TN Tatem)

Team Winners:

1. TN Tatem
