Two companies have signed a lease to open a combined pop-up store in the new portion of the Washington Mall.
Temporary pop-up shops have become increasingly popular in Bermuda, as well as the UK and US, where retailers can eliminate long-term costs like rent and employees and just sell their wares for a specified period of time or until their merchandise sells out.
Well-known retailers, Carole Holding and Peter Richold of All Wrapped Up, have joined forces for the temporary shop and will have their popular merchandise on sale starting today until December 24.
All Wrapped Up, which closed its flagship Washington Mall store in November, will feature jar candles, journals, Bermuda greeting cards and aprons by Vivian Hayward, Bermuda cedar gifts, books, Cindy Mitchell jewellery, incense from England, packaged loose teas and more.
Carole Holding, who also closed her Front Street store in November, will be offering her popular gourmet gift baskets filled with Bermuda honey, Bermuda onion marmalade and other treats along with Bacardi rum cakes, banana dolls, Carole Holding designed china, place-mats, embroidered linen pillows and recipe chopping boards. Additional items include Christmas biscuits, Island fragrant soap, Jewelry with pearls, shells and semi-precious stones and other inexpensive Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers. Customers will also receive a free raffle ticket as well as free gift with some purchases.
The combined pop-up store, located near Gold Standard, will be open on Friday 5pm-9pm, Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 1-5pm and Monday 9am-5pm.
