Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre holiday house released
The Bermuda Hospitals Board has issued an advisory about the availability of emergency and urgent care services over the holiday.
The Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre will be open Monday to Friday, including the public holidays of December 25 and 26 and January 1, between 4pm and midnight.
It is open on weekends from noon until midnight.
Meanwhile, the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital Emergency Department offers a 24-hour service, seven days a week.
A BHB spokeswoman said: People are reminded that community physicians should be consulted for minor conditions.
The Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre provides an out-of-hours service for more pressing conditions that cannot wait for a GP appointment, and the Emergency Department should only be used for emergency illnesses and accidents.
BHB would also like to remind the public that there is a cost for all Emergency and Urgent Care Services.
While people with insurance do not pay on the day, accessing Emergency services, rather than visiting a GP when it is appropriate, is resulting in rising premiums in Bermuda. Individuals without insurance will be billed directly.
