Wear red and help promote healthy hearts

The Bermuda Heart Foundation has designated Friday, February 1, as ‘National Wear Red Day’ to raise funds to promote healthy hearts in Bermuda.

Residents both young and old are being urged to fill out pledge forms to raise funds for lifesaving educational programmes and the development of new treatments to fight heart disease.

Students are also being urged to participate along with adults in the workplace.

By wearing red on the designated day participants will help promote awareness on the deadly impact of heart disease on women in particular, and how to avoid it.

Other preventive measures include being physically active, eating a heart-healthy diet and learning more about heart disease and its risk factors.

Pledge forms are available at the Bermuda Heart Foundation. For more information call 232-7812 or the Core Heart Health Centre at 232-2673.
