Ming congratulates Mayor
Shadow Minister of Municipalities, Senator Renee Ming extended congratulatory remarks yesterday to the new Mayor of St George’s Garth Rothwell.
“Having worked alongside of Mayor Rothwell over the past three plus years, I can speak to his passion for the town of St George’s,” she said.
Senator Ming served as Councillor and an Alderman at the Corporation of St George’s with the new Mayor. And she said there is no shortage of work to be done in the old town.
Citing the proposed marina and a pier off Murray’s Anchorage as two viable options for increased tourism she envisaged “more harmonious relations” moving forward.
Said Senator Ming: “Mayor Rothwell brings business sense and a genuine interest in the health and wealth of St George's.
“Each member should be heard and has a role to play in the running of the town.
“I trust that all solutions to rejuvenate the old town will be on the table with the new mayor as he works with all the stakeholders for a successful town."
