A 31-year-old St David’s man was remanded in custody on five charges involving the sexual assault of his ex-girlfriend and depriving her of her liberty.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, denied the charges drawn against him. The assault was said to have occurred on January 7, in St George’s and on January 9.

The defendant is alleged to have attacked her with a knife.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded the accused in custody for trial on April 29.

The case will be mentioned again in Plea Court on February 28.
