BHS student body has backed Bring Back Our Girls campaign

The Bermuda High School for Girls created a collage of class photos in support of the #BringBackOurGirls Campaign.

The Bermuda High School for Girls has shown solidarity for the #BringBackOurGirls campaign.

In class time this morning, students in the Secondary department investigated ways a hashtag can help a cause and brainstormed ideas for what they could do to help bring back the Nigerian girls who were kidnapped from their school over one month ago.

In the Primary department, students at the youngest grades discussed how important education for girls is and how there are still some places in the world where girls are not allowed to seek an education.

Every form class that was in school today made a poster with #BringBackOurGirls and was photographed.

A collage of all the photos was made and will be displayed on various social media outlets like the BHS Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Bermuda-High-School/121880661259956).

Some of the suggestions for what BHS students could do to help include sending support to the families, talking to friends and family members to get them involved, writing letters to the Nigerian Government, continuing to put pressure on other governments and the UN to send support, addressing the issue of human trafficking to ensure that no one will be able to “buy/sell” the girls and, of course, participating in the #BringBackOurGirls campaign.
