The Bermuda Road Safety Council launched Road Safety Week today with a focus on getting drivers to slow down.

Representatives will be “out and about” this week highlighting road safety issues (speeding, distracted driving, etc.) through radio interviews and school visits.

Road Safety Week takes place this week from Monday to Sunday to coincide with Road Safety Week in the United Kingdom.

The council’s new “Slow Down” campaign features local musical artists King Cami Cam and Kidd Clazzic, as the message is geared towards encouraging “the young and not so young” to decrease the speeds on the roads.

The schedule is as follows:

Today: Radio interview on the Sherri Simmons Show (102.7FM).

Tomorrow: Waving with Johnny Barnes.

Wednesday: Radio interview with Everest DaCosta (89.1FM).

Thursday: Western schools visit.

Friday: Eastern schools visit.

Sunday: Radio interview with Bermuda Speaks (107.5FM).
