Fruit and vegetables typically do not have a large marketing budget to draw upon, yet these companies encourage people to purchase these items by giving regular discounts on a variety of different items each week. MarketPlace in particular even has local produce on special.
Well done, that is a triple win: the farmer has a reliable customer, the consumer is encouraged to eat well and save money, and MarketPlace get loyal customers who look forward to their specials.
