Community clean-up restores White Hill field
A community clean-up aimed at cleaning up a historic landmark enjoyed strong backing on Saturday.
Area residents are hoping to restore White Hill field in Sandys South to its former glory with the help of the Department of Parks and Court Services.
Representatives from the Bermuda Police Service, Keep Bermuda Beautiful, Arnold’s supermarket and Bermuda National Trust also offered their time from 10am to 2pm.
“The clean-up went well, we had a good community turnout,” said volunteer Kevin Smith.
Mr Smith added that 70-plus people gave up their day for the initiative, which aims to get more young people involved in sport.
“We had a good start, but there’s more that needs to be done,” he said, thanking everyone who came to show their support.
