The Bank of Butterfield rose 2 cents, or 1.2 per cent, to $1.70 on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The move came after 19,000 shares in the bank traded. Butterfield announced on Thursday that it had filed for a proposed initial public offering of up to $100 million to place its ordinary voting shares on the New York Stock Exchange.

Watlington Waterworks remained at $20.25 after 1,000 shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX closed up 8.99 points, or 0.74 per cent, at 1,226.40.

The BSX Insurance Index also rose, up 20.26 points, or 1.23 per cent, at 1,664.01.
