Butterfield and Somers rise on BSX

Butterfield Bank and Somers Ltd each gained ground in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.
Somers, the financial-services holding company that owns Bermuda Commercial Bank, as well as stakes in brokers, lenders and investment firms internationally, was the biggest climber, gaining 4.9 per cent.
Somers’ share price added 75 cents to close on $16 as 300 shares traded.
Butterfield also rose 75 cents, or 1.5 per cent, to $52 as 100 shares changed hands. The bank’s US-listed shares gained 26 cents, or 0.5 per cent, to close on $52.75 in New York.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index rose 38.72 points, or 1.34 per cent, to close on 2,923.81.
The BSX Insurance Index added 3.15 points, or 0.2 per cent, to close on 1,606.79.
