Fines for speeding offenders
A man was fined almost $1,000 for traffic offences yesterday.
T’Shun Basden, 24, admitted in Magistrates’ Court to two speeding offences and driving an unlicensed motorcycle.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo fined him $400 for speeding at 70km/h in September 2016 and $300 for speeding at 67km/h in October last year.
Basden was also fined $250 and given two demerit points for the unlicensed bike offence.
In a separate case, Kamilah Cannonier Simons, 34, was fined $400 and given six demerit points after she admitted speeding at 72km/h.
The defendants’ addresses were not given in court.
