A man was charged today with setting fire to house.Calvin Trott, 49, was charged in Magistrates’ Court with setting fire to a home in Smith’s and destruction of the homeowner’s car.The offences are alleged to have happened on February 28.The court heard that the total cost of damages was about $19,000.Mr Trott did not enter a plea as the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe released Mr Trott, from Smiths, on $5,000 bail and adjourned the case to the Supreme Court on May 1.He also ordered Mr Trott to have no contact with the alleged victim.• It is The Royal Gazette’s policy not to allow comments on stories regarding court cases.
