Guns photo not from Bermuda
A photo of guns and ammunition circulating on social media is from Barbados, not Bermuda, according to police.
Some had suggested the contraband had been discovered on the island, but police issued a statement stressing that was not the case.
The Bermuda Police Service stated: “An online image search indicates that the photo is actually from Barbados, after authorities there reportedly seized the items at a Barbados port.
“Members of the public are reminded that anyone with information regarding the location of illegal firearms or ammunition locally can contact the Serious Crime Unit in confidence on 247-1739 or the independent and anonymous Miami-based Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.”
