Restaurant renovations take shape
A new-look to the building that formerly housed the Indigo restaurant in Flatts is taking shape.
It is adjacent to Four Star Pizza. No announcement has been made about what type of restaurant is to open, however planning blueprints feature the Four Star logo, while a sign next to the main entrance on North Shore Road has the words “Four Star Patio”.
An enclosed porch area on the ground floor is under construction. An internal stairwell will connect the downstairs porch to the first floor through an upper-level enclosure that has full-height windows and skylights. Previously the first floor had an outdoor patio. Planning documents show that outdoor seating will be retained on either side of the stairwell enclosure at the front of the building.
When renovations are completed, the restaurant will seat a maximum of 47 customers — which is the same number as it previously accommodated — split between the ground and first floor.
Renovation work on the building has been ongoing for a number of months. Planning approval was given for the new stairwell and enclosure, new concrete floor, interior renovations, enclosed porch area and new exterior door.
Indigo was run by businessman Marico Thomas, who also runs Four Star and the Glaze bakery stores. The Royal Gazette has sent a request for more information about the new-look restaurant and its expected opening date.
